Thank God for Dr. Raz

The last blog I wrote was about the giant Mesh Monster we are all fighting to try to regain our health again and I wrote it because of the ignorant doctors all around this country and the world.  A woman left a comment after that blog because she knows the struggle of living with nonstop pain and the feeling of no hope, until she made her way out to UCLA. Many women were writing wills before they went to him because they knew they were dying a little every day. Some wanted to die sooner and I begged them to hang in. They did and one man gave them the hope they needed and the will to survive.

Some of us stay in touch with each other and sometimes speak on the phone. We help each other through the difficulties of healing and the return to our lives because no one understands the way another mesh woman does. Yesterday I had a laughing and fun conversation with a woman in Canada who had mesh removal by Dr. Raz last month. We spoke of our amazement that this man is so dedicated. We are amazed that he answers our emails when we have a question after working with patients all day long and performing many surgeries that help us live again.

You see unless you have been out there and had surgery by him, you would not quite understand why we all defend him against all the stupid comments by doctors around this country. They don’t like it when we sell what we own to go to Dr. Raz because other women have shared with us the good changes in their lives because of him. Yes we get angry when a stupid doctor makes such comments because we all know of so many more women who have been so badly injured by unskilled doctors and they live in agony, in far worse shape than the mesh injury itself. We all know women who lay in bed because they cannot walk because of mesh injuries and this man’s skills got them out of bed again. Women who have been told for years that what was wrong with them was nothing to do with mesh. Doctors would rather cut into their backs and do unnecessary surgeries, rather than say “It could be your bladder sling doing this”. I talk to these women. I know their agony and yet I cannot do as much as I would like to stop what is happening. I try to slay this giant monster with words, but I make a very small dent in this fight.

So yes, we fight tooth and nail to protect this man’s reputation because without him we would be giving up. Now we have hope for a better future. So the word to these doctors is “Don’t mess with Dr. Raz”. We just won’t stand for it!

You got that right! I would not be alive now if not for him. He’s the only doctor (and I went to plenty) who had not only the knowlege but the b***ls to remove the entire mesh and who knew the importance of doing just that. I was having so many immune problems, pain, among other things that I feel if it hadn’t all come out I couldn’t have survived. The other docs were afraid to rmove it from my sacrum for fear of doing harm. I was already unable to stand and had lost control of my bowels so I didn’t think I had much to lose. I’ve never met another person like him and I feel extremely blessed to have been able to go to him for both my mesh removals. Bless you too Linda for fighting the good fight.

You are the second person who has contacted me from another country in two days. Of course I will give you that information and I am going to email you direct his email address so that you can ask him questions. He will answer you. It may take you many months to get in to see Dr. Raz because he is so booked up, but you can see one of two women who were trained by him and work with him now. They have to be the best to keep those positions. All three doctors are on this blog. http://teapapers.com/bladdersling/2012/08/so-much-hope-for-mesh-removal-surgery

I’ve had three surgeries to remove this so far. The last surgery was sept 30,2103. I feel weak my legs and groin hurt and I am so sick at my stomach. The pain is awful but I don’t take anything for it. I tales to my doctor about it and he said you will get better it takes time. I’m so frustrated and feel so emotional about this. My sex life is over ……hurts too much. I’m going to buy a cane. Did you feel sick that long after your surgery? I want to warn other women don’t ever do this!! I was told how great this was! My life has been permanently changed because of this. :0(
